“You ready?” captain asked. I tried to nod yes, but the spaceman-like suit restricted my neck. I must have moved just enough, because he then asked, “You’ve got the code,” pointing to the tall white box next to me. Again I attempted to nod in futility.
“Alright, I’m going to head to the safety check point. Wait for the go ahead and all clear. God speed.” captain ordered before leaving me alone with the buzzing box.
After what seemed like an eternity, captain’s voice cracked in my helmet,”Operation Melissa is Go!”
Shaking, I entered the code and released the weapon.
