Quiet Beach

Near the marina

The wind had picked up

Seagulls stopped their squawking

A fat gull took off

Breeze carried spray remnants

Of incoming tide

Lapping the water’s edge

Comforting quiescence

Relief still

Trifextra: Week Fifty-Six

This weekend we are playing another type of word game.

I took the top photo at the Texas State Aquarium in Corpus Christi, TX and the second photo at the beach in Port Aransas, TX last weekend. It was cold (for south Texas) so the beach was quiet. It fit so well here.

what is your meaning of cold in TX? 🙂 I’m headed there for a week or so the end of April – 1st of May. But not near the Gulf – inland.

    Great poem under difficult circumstances.

Holy cow. Did you really pull this off this beautifully??? I hope you don’t mind my pointing everyone in your direction when they say the challenge is impossible. 🙂

Excellent writing! Lovely and lyrical. Beautiful use of the words provided. 🙂

  8. At least, a quiet beach BEFORE the spring breakers get a hold of it! I like what you did with your word bank. Very lyrical–you could probably put it to music. I’m picturing an acoustic guitar, a coffeehouse setting…
